Review of Falling Down (1993) by Nikolaj Z — 14 Dec 2010
"Clear the path! I'm going home!".
This is a movie I really try to enjoy every time I watch it, but the pace and mood of the film just isn't very well done. The movie seems to focus more on the eerie vibe of this "normal" guy rather than the stress he's dealing with in his head. Also, Michael Douglas seems too calm for me to believe that this guy has problems; it isn't until he dresses up in the G.I. Joe outfit that his character comes to life. On the other side, however, the movie does a decent job of telling the story of a small, 'Joe Nobody' cop getting ready to retire and how he handles the stressors of his life.
"I've past the point of no return.".
"I'm the Bad Guy? How'd that happen?".
