Review of Falling Down (1993) by Rachael H — 01 Mar 2012
A black comedy about a mentally man having a break down. I love how it's slowly revealed how he got into this situation and why he's so angry. (I spent the first half an hour thinking WTF calm down what's your problem, why are you all of a sudden so mad at this shop owner?) There are some laugh out loud scenes, like the one in the fast food place where he demands Breakfast and the guy playing golf being ridiculous.
The ending felt fitting and it was a good entertaining film, very well written and directed. It's funny the things the screenwriter must have been angry at with everyday life, cause D-Fens does make some good points about the government lying to us but he's mentally ill so no one will listen and he's a very angry man! Loved the scenes with the gang and the policeman and his irritating wife.
