Review of Falling Down (1993) by Jay L — 30 Jan 2013
"The adventures of an ordinary man at war with the everyday world.".
A haunting, disturbing and violent film that really hits the sweet spot. Falling Down is a searingly engaging and absolutely absorbing story that grabs your attention and refuses to let it go. A hypnotic, bloody and downright fantastic early 90's film from Director Joel Schumaker (Tigerland, A Time To Kill, The Client). Schumaker has been quite the hit or miss filmmaker during his career, he has crafted some spectacular films, but he's helmed some spectacular duds as well, Falling Down falls right in the middle. Entertaining and unpredictable, this film get the heart rate pumping and the pulse jumping.
Michael Douglas stars and gives a gloriously haunting performance throughout. Robert Duvall stars alongside Douglas and is fantastic as well.
