Review of Falling Down (1993) by Evan J — 26 Jul 2014
I actually liked it and NOT in an obsessive "Taxi Driver" kinda' way. Understand though refuse to condone the Michael Douglas character's action, I thought the similar situation BUT different path the Robert Duvall character took was amazing!.
I think anyone who has been downsized, marginalized, ridiculed, and just plain DUMPED on can relate to this film. However, it is fantastic (again) how it clearly shows how two different men handled their similar situations.
Douglas' subcumbed to it. DuVall's took it and ROSE above...EXCELLENT damn flick!. (BUT I did get a kick outta' Douglas' confrontations in the fast food resturant, on the golf course, and with the misfired bazooka during his return to the uneeded street project/traffic jam.
Also, thought it deliberately symbollic Douglas was driving a CHEVETTE, perhaps the WORST US car ever made...BEEN there, had one.!).
