Review of Fall Guy (1982) by Bobbie M — 14 Feb 2005
Usually when foreign directors break gorund with a popular film, they tend to have earlier films brought to surface. Such is the case with Battle Royale 2 director Kinjin Fukasaku's Fall Guy, originally released in the 1980s.
The story follows a love triangle - a fallen samurai superstar, his bit actor partner and the superstar's pregnant ex. The superstar arranges for the bit actor to marry his ex because he's on to bigger better things.
Their relationship being sadomasochitic, the bit actor accepts. As the story evolves the human drama enters, the final sequence is very compelling. I'm not going into details, just watch the damn film.
