Review of Fair Game (2010) by Roney M — 02 Apr 2011
This is what some of the critics have said about this powerful drama:
'Fair Game" is such a brutal and personal testimony to the consequences of dirty politics that it often feels too ugly to be true. Unfortunately, it is.".
For every spycraft scene, every illustration of the deadly blowback from the leak that Liman dramatizes, the movie has half a dozen scenes of a delicately balanced home life turned on its head by a government bent on destroying one of its critics." THIS MOTION PICTURE IS TERRIFIC, FANTASTIC, MESMERIZING and in true fashion it depicts how corrupted the Bush regime with its Axis of evil was...So what is this film about?
Naomi Watt plays the role of Valeria Plame Wilson, a CIA agent whose status as an undercover agent was revealed by White House officials allegedly out to discredit her husband (Joe Wilson played by Sean Penn) after he wrote a 2003 New York Times op-ed piece saying that the Bush administration had manipulated intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq..My hat is off to Doug Liman (director) and cast and crew of Fair Game for bringing to light the nefarious and corrupt activities of the White House under the Bush regime. Half-way through the film I took Joe Wilson's side and was hoping that his wife Valerie would support her husband after the major betrayal of the CIA and the White House staff against her. As all of you know hopefully if you kept up with political and US news events Scooter Libby was convicted and sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and fined $250,000 for his role in revealing the work of Valerie Plame as an undercover CIA Agent. At the time President George Bush used his executive authority to commute the court's sentence. In 2006 Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage admitted to being a source of the leak. Joe and Valerie Wilson left the traitors and corruption of Washington DC and found a new home in Santa Fe. POWERHOUSE OF A MOVIE AND MOST DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! A STANDING OVATION!
