Review of Fair Game (2010) by Baurushan J — 27 Jan 2014
Naomi Watts stars as CIA agent Valerie Plame who at the time her cover was blown by the George W. Bush administration, she was combing Iraq for evidence of weapons of mass destruction as part of the CIA's Counter-Proliferation Division.
Her husband Joe Wilson played by Sean Penn was attempting to verify a claim that they had urchased uranium from Niger before any solid evidence had been gathered. When Joe wrote an editorial in The New York Times, a Washington D.
C. journalist took the oortunity to reveal Valerie's identity which not only put her career in jeopardy but also left her various contacts overseas in a precarious position. Years later, a jobless and publicly disgraced Valerie is now fighting to clear her name.
This film works as an drama/action/thriller but it is boring most of the time and doesn't really live up to its hype. The actors all do a fine job but at least they could have made the story interesting.
Fair Game gets a 5.75/10.
