The letter? That's pretty much the breaking point for nonstop tears in the final 40 or so minutes of the movie. I must admit that I can't watch this movie without crying my eyes out. Unlike a lot of forced sentimentality in Korean film, this one's honest.
Choi Min-sik and Cecilia Cheung are amazing in their roles, the script is fantastic, and it's just beautiful. For Korean film, I can't recommend Failan enough -- it's one of my favourites.
