Review of Fail Safe (1964) by Colt H — 01 Apr 2009
Remember first watching this late at night with my Dad on Turner Classic Movies. It was a very haunting film, at first I couldn't figure out what it was about this movie that was able to captivate and keep a 13 year old kid concentrated, it was then that my dad pointed out to me that through out the entire movie there was no music. I had to go back and watch it through again just to confirm and sure enough no music, a lot of people might think that wouldn't make a difference or would take away from the movie, rather it serves it's purpose of making it a more intense and makes you sit up and take notice.
Even though we don't live in an age with the constant threat of nuclear war the issues that are depicted in the film are still very relevant for today and all ages, which is why this movie will always remain timeless for me.
