Review of Fail Safe (1964) by Kenny K — 23 Feb 2011
I've always seen this movie as the darker side to "Dr. Strangelove" except that it's a computer error and not a paranoid idiot that sends American bombers on a path to bomb Moscow.
Performances are great from the entire cast. The story is pretty solid and very tense. There is no music score for the film but it isn't needed because the tension is achieved without it, with facial expressions, camera angles. The aircraft footage looks like inverted air force footage but that's because the Air Force lent little or no technical assistance to the film. But this is still a great movie and should be viewed by all film fans.
