Review of Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) by Callum R — 27 Feb 2010
Fahrenheit 9/11: Arguably Moores most established and successful work. He takes a back seat, allowing his own well reasearched work take a biased spin of its own without himself becoming the star for the documentary vehicle.
Fahrenheit might be too complex and fastly paced for some, but it allows the director's most complete work to flourish in discussions. He lets ideas stew over time, and while the opinion here is decidely anti-Bush from the start there is no denying the detail in facts Moore has drawn out and pieced together.
He lessens the provoking 'emotion story' and makes a real documentary. This is not to say that some of the facts are extended fiction but that Moore finally found a perfect balance of entertainment and factual satire without obscuring the truth with tacky and ego-driven power stunts.
As good, if not better than Columbine... 81/100.
