Review of Fahrenheit 451 (1966) by Jack M — 22 Dec 2008
Black and white sixties science fiction which is becoming increasingly prescient. This is what would happen if a totalitarian state imposed censorship. Mass book-burnings, the general populace becoming more ignorant and malleable, opposition oppressed and eventually wiped out, and the removal of what makes us human - our individuality and freedom of choice/expression/thought.
Absolutely fantastic film and required watching by all schoolchildren in my view. If anyone questions the importance of books - watch this.
