Slightly stiff film of Bradbury's novel, hampered by Truffault working in a language he couldn't speak and, tentatively, in colour for the first time. The look and feel of the film is fairly dated, but that strangely works to the films advantage, as it offers the viewer various abstract scenes of totalitarian dystopic satire which can be enjoyed without having to be judged as to whether the technology "matches the future".

The portrait of a society full of banal conformists, stuck in front of TV programmes they idiotically believe they are "interacting" with, whilst the state makes thinking and feeling a crime, is prescient to say the least.

.. Makes you want to learn a good book by heart!
