Review of Fahrenheit 451 (1966) by Lucas Y — 23 Sep 2008
Interesting premise. I thought it was humorous to see the people at the end walking around and being identified as books. Television and its strong influence on society is a big theme throughout this film.
However, be careful not to get it confused. Although, books are burned in this film it makes the point that they are an essential human activity as a result of Oskar Werner's character and his conversion to reading novels.
The special effects are humorous (ex. flying spacemen) however it works. Overall its a well rounded film that has a great message.
