Review of Fahrenheit 451 (1966) by Christy K — 01 Nov 2008
Believe it or not: This is a book about humanity as the possibility it was and is in the course of evolution. Not humanity in the sense of mercy, but humanity in the recognition of the importance of each and everyone as having importance.
In the end everybody is a book. The oral tradition returns to its natural state - inside a body. And how suppress wisdom that is passed down from human to human? You cannot kill all. You can only kill the precise memory, which is a representation of the power of one lifetime (in which any dictator or bully lives), but you cannot kill the need for wisdom.
Because it IS the body.
