Review of Fahrenheit 451 (1966) by Stephen C — 10 Dec 2008
It's well directed and acting is halfway decent, there's just no sense of oppression in the movie. It's almost like books are a minor nuissance made up for bi-law officers to check for. The weight of the books as a plot device really suffers in the film.
The rest of the oppression society is kind of ignored as well, there are suttle hints at a few, but add up to much of an atmosphere.
