Review of Fados (2007) by Sydney P — 19 Mar 2008
A wide-ranging variety show of Fados, some excellent musicians and very touching moments, but on the whole I couldn't get really involved or engaged, the only magic moment came at the end of the movie when the crane camera turned looking at itself through a mirror, kept on zooming and re-focusing into the "dark" inner body self, sort of like the HAL 9000 computer in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, nothing really related to Fados but very creepy, should have gone to see Sean Penn's movie instead (HKIFF 19/3/2008).
