Review of Fading of the Cries (2009) by Devon W — 17 May 2011
This has 'ambitious personal project' written all over it. First things first, this movie is by no means amazing. Most of the effects are of really low quality (most), the acting is sub-par at the best of times (although good job from the two daughters), dialogue is eye-brow raising... etc.
On the plus side, the story was fairly interesting once I got the hang of the weird scene/side story cuts. Actually, I really enjoyed the story, mythos, characters (maybe just not the actors portraying them) and the amount of effort and creativity that went in to designing the whole thing. It's a hard watch, but as far as bad movies go it was nice to actually watch one with a unique and engaging story.
