Review of Faded Memories (2008) by Teagan K — 16 Nov 2008
I was really impressed by the humanity and depth of this movie. This very young filmmaker (she wrote, directed and co-starred in this movie at age 16) pulled off something quite incredible as she involved me emotionally in the story from beginning to end. It was very hard not to care for the main character - Cassandra - as she struggles with her phobia of touching other people while falling in love with a teen boy against all odds.
In the tradition of Romeo and Juliet, the two lovers are torn apart by their families who don't want them to be together -- but Faded Memories takes this to a unique level using an unconventional story structure that I have never seen before in a teen love story. I would highly recommend this movie to everyone who wants to see a touching love story in the tradition of "The Notebook" or "Titanic" (but this is an independent film) with a touch of "Girl, Interrupted.".
I know it has a very limited release right now but I hope it expands soon so a lot of people can enjoy this very special movie..
