Review of Factory Girl (2006) by Jamie H — 21 Jul 2008
This was a really good film with some strong performances, it helps a little that I'm always slightly seduced by the NYC scene of this period, somebody fetch me the time machine:-).
That said the film is not cheery glamour or heroin chic, it focuses on the almost abusive friendship between Warhol and Edie, how he seems to have sapped her love, emotion and bank balance and left her on the slag heap. Noel coward may well have written 'Poor little Rich Girl' with her n mind with his own time machine, her dying at 28 is pure tragedy.
