Review of Factory Girl (2006) by Elvia F — 17 Aug 2008
I absolutely adore Andy Warhol and although the movie is more about Edie Sedgewick - I think it's absolutely brilliant nonetheless.
However, I do feel so sorry for Edie - for she died at such a young age [28 yrs. old - due to drug overdose] and she was exploited by so many people [Warhol in particular] for she trusted people too much and her uber kindness was abused...
... and her life story is very depressing - her father would rape her since she was 8 yrs. of age and her brothers [both were homosexuals] committed suicide... mostly because her father tauted them and called them "faggots", etc.
I think it was all very glamourous, yet sad... because homosexual, hetrosexual, bisexual, transsexual, whatever... we're all human beings and as such we must respect and love one another!
I have too much to say about the movie, but I think its best not to say anything at all and just let you think whatever it is that you think.
