Review of Factory Girl (2006) by Chris S — 05 Dec 2008
An indifferent look at the life of a fashion icon who was torn apart by her own habits and by the people she loved. The movie seems to be building up to something, but ultimately doesn't really tell us anything new or inspired about the subject.
Highlights are the engagingly watchable Sienna Miller and Guy Pearce as they create searing portraits of Sedgwick and Warhol, respectively. Hayden Christensen and Jimmy Fallon, meanwhile, are so aggressively bland that they actively detract from the experience whenever they're on screen.
