Review of Facing the Giants (2006) by Robert C — 30 Nov 2008
I knew going in that this movie would be predictable. I knew it was produced by a Church. Knowing all this I still enjoyed the movie immensely. So often today the Christian message is prohibited and/or regulated and it is now rare to see a strong Christian message in any media. The movie had a lot of lighthearted humor and there were many emotional moments. I welcome more movies with these positive messages. The movement today is to suppress a Christian message and to categorize some of the beliefs as intolerant. Well, yes, the beliefs are intolerant. Thou shall not kill the innocent, thou shall not lie and the like. And yes, marriage is and always will be meant for one man and one woman. Thirty or forty years ago this belief was mainstream and common sense. Through activism we are finding common sense under fire.
Sorry for the diatribe.
Thanks for the opportunity to give my feedback.
Might the reviewers here have knocked the wholesome shows of the past like "Father Knows Best" and "Leave it to Beaver"?
RGC.
