Review of Face/Off (1997) by Guido S — 05 Sep 2013
John Travolta plays an FBI agent on the hunt of a criminal in Nic Cage, who also murdered his son by accident. He eventually captures him and in order to get details of a bomb, they decide to take Cage's face off and put in on Travolta because they have similar facial structure.
Cage eventually awakens and takes Travolta's face, kills everyone who knew about this, and then continues to mess with his family. If that was ridiculous, the plot actually goes downhill after that.
The first part with the body swap is kind of interesting. Then Cage delivers his classic 'I want to take his face....off' and it never recovers at that point. There are some interesting slo mo slowdown and action scenes, save for a terrible boat explosion and chase.
Almost a great comedy.
