Review of Face/Off (1997) by Alec B — 17 Jul 2015
Yes the plot makes no sense, yes the performances of Cage and Travolta are out of control, yes it's way too long, yes the action sequences often play like a parody of Woo's earlier stuff, but all these problems are part of the film's appeal.
It's a mess but a mess that's often compelling because it refuses to ever be normal.
