Review of F for Fake (1973) by Nathan H — 19 Mar 2008
Wow -- this was quite a movie. So non-linear as to put Tarantino to shame. A brilliant essay about the subjectivity of art and genius -- perhaps a reflection by Welles on his own often misunderstood genius.
A strong criticism of self-styled experts, and relevant to our own time -- just substitute the words "political pundit" for "art critic," and the movie quite accurately describes the state of political discourse in 2008 America.
