Eyes Without a Face is an astonishing film, it creates a frightening atmosphere by using somewhat fantasy like elements of story telling. Edith Scob gives a subtle, but incredible performance, playing a tragic victim of circumstance.

The cinematography is beautiful, the dark tone adds to the overall feeling of the movie. Though this is not a well known film among mainstream audiences, I do believe it has influenced pop-culture as well as many films of modern cinema, one that comes to mind is Pedro Almodovar's ''The Skin I Live In''.

Eyes Without a Face is a frightening tale of a madman's obsession, I highly recommend it.
