Review of Eyes Without a Face (1960) by Burton D — 13 Jul 2011
Creepy and imaginative scenes are created for what would normally have been a fairly generic mad science movie. Scares work best when the movie is at its most unconventional. And this movie is different from the usual fare from its day.
For instance the mad scientist is a completely average middle aged guy and his Igor is a normal attractive woman. Surgical gore is punctuated with some eerie and beautiful visuals.
