Review of Eyes Without a Face (1960) by Tyree G — 14 Dec 2011
I don't know where to start here with this beautiful nightmare of a film. I'll start off by saying that it is a masterpiece and the best HORROR film I have ever seen; that's right, I said it and I'm sure I'll have nightmares to come.
.. For a film that came out in 1962, it sure was ahead of itself and even to this day I feel. Not only is it a fantastic story but the gory details that may seem to ruin most movies today work perfect in Eyes Without a Face.
I feel the black and white picture adds to it's creepiness adding very strong contrast to the iconic mask that is Christiane and the haunting basement dungeon where Docteur GÃ (C)nessier conducts his surgical experiments on young blue eyed college students.
Any one that believes they have seen the terror and horror and that is anything besides Eyes Without a Face, think again.
