The great Stanley Kubrick signs off with this erotic thriller as his last film before his untimely death. 'Eyes Wide Shut', like his other films, is shot with extreme precision. It's about the struggles of monogamy.
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman have rarely been better and you have to wonder whether it was all acting (the real-life couple divorced not long after this film). But Kubrick is the star and it's sad to know that we will never see him create another masterpiece.
