That costume party sequence was something else - intriguing, bizarre and distinctively Kubrick. I think I was really enjoying Eyes Wide Shut up until the end pretty much undid all the tension that the first 3/4s of the movie built up.
I didn't find it boring though as others seem to consider it. Also certainly much easier to follow than 2001 even if the overall message didn't quite sink in. I liked it but it could have been wrapped up better.
