Review of Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by Liam D — 21 Jan 2011
Stanley Kubrick's final film is dark, adventurous and at times intense but it is by no stretch of the imagination his best. Cruise's and more notably Kidman's acting is fantastic. The cinematography is great (the camera work from scene where Cruise's character is brought before the man in the red hood after he is caught out is nothing short of genius).
The score is haunting and creepy and the story is captivating. A admirable farewell film from Kubrick.
