It takes getting through the whole thing to realize that Eye of the Beholder really doesn't have a point. It's interesting enough getting there but just don't expect a satisfying (or coherent) conclusion.
I never really got the motivations of the characters, and there were several subplots or character backgrounds that simply were dropped or went nowhere. In your confusion this may trick you into thinking it's suspenseful or interesting, and I guess it could be for some.
But overall it's like most Ashley Judd movies, you could skip this one and not miss much.
