Review of Eye in the Sky (2015) by Eric R — 05 Jul 2016
For the first 30-45 minutes I thought the movie was a little slow and boring. It was spending time on such mundane stuff and focusing on trivialities and procedural non-sense that I wondered what was going on. By the end of the movie, I realized that is what made the movie so interesting. It is precisely all of that mundane stuff that becomes important.
Overall a very well done examination of today's drone wars and the sorts of issues that are faced when trying to decide whether to assassinate someone via a drone. I didn't feel like it took a side -- it just presented the situation and let the watcher really immerse themselves in the complex decisions.
Ultimately I really enjoyed it and thought it was thoughtful and tense.
