Review of Eye in the Sky (2007) by Late R — 28 Apr 2018
Dramatic, very tense and smartly written, 'Eye in The Sky' approaches the subject of war from the different viewpoints of the many people - from the bottom, all the way up the chain of command -- involved in a drone-strike operation conducted from the comfort and safety of their rooms, far away from the fight itself.
It addresses moral and ethical issues, as well as logistics, but presents us with no easy answers, no black and white. Most of all it asks us, the audience: what would you do if you were in any one of these characters shoes? The result is a fantastically-acted, jarring film that brings home that age old saying: "In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers.
