Americans are always on about their great justice system and yet keep promoting vigilante law in their movies. This one's a classic example of stupidity, in which a woman pursues revenge and then gets it without getting any blood on her hands.
In short, it's total BS, badly written and directed and featuring another screaming performance by Sally Field. This is what the director of Midnight Cowboy ended up doing.
