Review of Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011) by Michael V — 05 Jul 2012
"One of the best, most depressing, powerful & saddest films of 11'. Thomas Horn is amazing especially for a newcomer, he gives such a powerful performance of a kid who has Asberger Disorder & who's deeply hurt after his father dies, made my cry (Oscars snub this kid) Sandra Bullok gives perhaps the best performance of her career (even better than in The Blind Side) as a grieving mother.
Max Von Sydow (such a pleasure to see him on the screen (who's always such a pleasure to see on screen) who got an Oscar nod for this, is fantastic as perhaps the grandfather of the kid with no words.
Tom Hanks is such a damn good actor that even when he's in a very limited role, he just soars easily. Viola Davis & Jeffery Wright (such great actors) are very good in their limited roles. I really have no idea why this movie got so much undeserved hate but it is what is.
This was surprisingly an amazing of a film.".
