Review of Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011) by Patrick K — 03 Apr 2014
This Oscar-nominated Best Picture stars Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and newcomer Thomas Horn in NYC on 9/11. Horn plays an 11-year old boy with Asperger's, who must solve the mystery of a key left behind by his father (Hanks) after this death.
This film relives all the disturbing events and chilling emotions of that tragic day; a necessity in my book so that we are never tempted to forget. It also paves the way for one family--including a grandfather--towards acceptance of reality and closure.
Grade: B+.
