Review of Extreme Movie (2008) by Joseph H — 26 Jan 2012
Welcome to Great Bay High School, where young minds are shaped, and the real education begins after class. While falling for the cutest girl in his class Mike knows that he's looking for love in all the wrong places. Chuck loses his virginity with his girlfriend and finds that she wants to take things to "the next level". Barry has the obsession of creating his perfect woman on his computer. Fred meets an online girl and goes to her home for sex games but learns that he's in the wrong apartment. Mateus faces the aftermath of a wild night of partying. And Griffin is in love with an electric vagina.
Directed by Adam Jay Epstein and Andrew Jacobson, 'Extreme Movie' stars the following:
1.) Andy Milonakis (Justin).
2.) Cherilyn Wilson (Stacy).
3.) Frankie Muniz (Chuck).
4.) Jamie Kennedy (Mateus).
5.) Matthew Lillard (Himself).
6.) Michael Cera (Fred).
7.) Ryan Pinkston (Mike).
Despite the title, 'Extreme Movie' is not what you'd think - an another comedy spoof going after Spartans, epic blockbusters, or disaster-themed stuff. Rather, it shows public service announcements on teen sex. And while I find the series of short vignettes about teen sex amusing, they're not at all funny with our characters doing sex acts and not interacting with each other from scene to scene. Sequences like the Abe Lincoln spoof, a live sexy webcam stripping, and Michael Cera's break-in did entertain me, but I don't see the comedic value of it. And if I want to look at that Blue Ball, I know that he looks like a horny Muppet version of a combination of Grover and Elmo. Again, 'Extreme Movie' is not at all funny and I don't mind not recommending to everyone unless it's for the teen sex romp film fans.
