Though the story that inspired this movie might have been extraordinary, its transition to film was much less. I must admit, it was good seeing Harrison Ford in a movie again because it feels like it's been a good while since he had been (I know he was recently in Indiana Jones), and I felt he did well with the part he was given.

I think the real problem here was the reliance on the situation, which was indeed sad, to be enough to create all the drama and emotion, and also for me, Brendan Fraser. I don't think this role utilizes his certain skill set the best.

He has made a name for himself in family and action/adventure, with an occasional venture into the dramatic. I will agree though ventures have yielded some fine performances, but this isn't one of them.

It wasn't necessarily bad. At the end of the day, it was simply not memorable. That in a nutshell was the movie's problem. Mediocre and unmemorable.
