Review of Extraordinary Measures (2010) by Nathan N — 07 Sep 2012
While it tugs at your heart strings (especially if you're a parent), the lackluster acting from its two main leads detracts from what is supposed to be an inspirational medical drama. Harrison Ford feels like he's just playing the same character from every movie he's done in the last 15 years and Brendan Fraser is going against type by playing serious, and it's a hard pill to swallow (as they say in the film).
It's incredibly hard to take him seriously after so many years of watching him mug for the camera. This might've been a very emotional film, if only they'd gotten different leads who could've really portrayed the turmoil and desperation they needed to show.
What a shame.
