Why wasn't this thing sent as a direct-to-DVD release? "Extraction" is a poorly made action film that's the cinematic equivalent of low calories. It stars Kellan Lutz as a government analyst who has to rescue his father, Bruce Willis who gets kidnapped by terrorists. This plot description is making me sleepy already because Willis deserves better than this and Lutz shouldn't have a movie career after his "Legend of Hercules" fiasco. Nobody here including director Steven C. Miller don't seem to care about the quality of the movie. This is VOD movie-making at it's worst.

"Extraction" is about a CIA trainee named Harry Turner (Lutz) hoping to become a field agent just like his father, Leonard Turner (Willis). Harry wanted to become an agent after his mother was murdered by assassins ten years ago. However, he may have to get more training because he just got turned down by the agency for the fourth time. On the same day, Leonard gets kidnapped by a group of terrorists and Harry wants to rescue his old man but the CIA will not let him. Come on Harry, let the professionals handle this besides you need more training and acting lessons.

Unfortunately, Harry disobeys direct orders from the CIA and decides to rescue his father himself. To his surprise, Harry gets help from fellow agent and ex-lover, Victoria (Gina Carano). The two engage in boring fight scenes and batting awful lines at each other. Despite the possibly of getting back together, there is no chemistry between Lutz and Carano. Finally, the third act even has a WTF moment that will make you mad at yourself and the filmmakers for wasting your precious time.

I hope Gina Carano gets better movies in the future because "Extraction" is her second VOD release of 2015. As for you Mr. Willis, how many low-rent action pictures do you have to make? Do you really want to become the next Nicolas Cage?

After playing one of Edward's vampire brothers in the "Twilight" movies, Kellan Lutz has had a hard time connecting with audiences. Gee, I wonder why? He can't act his way out of a paper bag. "Extraction" is easily one of the worst action movies of the year.
