Review of Extract (2009) by Darryl M — 22 Feb 2011
From the director of Office Space and Idiocracy comes another great comedy. In short, Jason Bateman, an owner of a factory for extract, is having marital issues and has a lingering eye towards a new hire, Mila Kunis, who has her own selfish agenda.
He turns to his friend, played by Ben Affleck, who in turn gives him senseless yet convincing advice and things just start to spin out of control... The plot itself is a good story but what drives the movie are each of the characters.
Just like Office Space all the characters are, well, characters. They are all likeable and very funny in their own way. Every scene keeps you laughing and I liked that even though it is a rated R comedy it is still a humble movie and doesn't stretch the R rating as most comedies in that category do (Hangover, Superbad, etc.
..) Not to imply that those comedies are bad but this movie is a refreshing change of pace. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did :).
