Review of Extinction (2018) by Jaeger S — 19 Jan 2019

This is a pretty average netflix movie with a great twist! Without the twist that in turn explained some very questionable story telling up until it I would've gave this film 1 star. I do enjoy sci-fi / survivalist entertainment and I could see someone not into that really not enjoying this film. Its a bit of slow grind at the start but about 20 minutes in it becomes action intensive.
It does seem like Netflix is trying to pump out a squeal for this which I'll be waiting for if this turns into some sort of stepping stone for a second film or a trilogy. If they end up taking the concept and running with it, it could turn out fantastic.
Pena was his usual self although his character felt a little handcuffed as the middle third of the film is essentially an escort mission with his children. Like I said before though if there is a second or even third film I think they set his character up well for Pena to knock it out of the park next time.
