Review of Extinction (2018) by Berik — 06 Nov 2018
The biggest problem this movie has is that even the communication between actors is so stiff that nothing draws you in. The premise itself is good, but so much potential is wasted on explaining dreams and feelings that it undermines the moments that you are supposed to care for the characters. This seems impossible.
Obviously you gotta take Sci-fi with a grain of salt, but even this movie makes it impossible to have it be believable. Humanity scared of Earth? The US couldn't defeat the Vietcong, but we are supposed to believe that androids can defeat 7 billion humans? Yeah I don't think so.
It was a dread watching this in all aspects. It is a terrible movie, and it earns a 3/10 from me. (But at least it was better than The Predator and Alien Covenant).
