Review of Exporting Raymond (2011) by Ryan O — 13 Nov 2011
Exporting Raymond is a fascinating documentary about taking a hit U.S. television series and transforming it another culture - where what we American's may find funny, won't necessarily translate to another culture. I really enjoyed this informative film, that while not all that ground breaking, gives a glimpse into the complex and difficult world of television production. At times, Exporting Raymond is funny as it examines the Russian culture vs. the U.S. culture and the neuroses of its creator. If you're a fan of Everyone Loves Raymond, you'll find this documentary enjoyable. If you're fascinated with the process involved in making television, you'll be equally entertained.
I say, check it out. It's different and unique.
