Review of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008) by Kyle W — 15 Dec 2008

An enjoyable documentary. Well told. Smart. Stein clearly has a position going in but doesn't hide the fact that there seems to be great injustices being perpetrated in academia. The movie tries to not take sides between Evolution and Intelligent Design and simply presents the case that freedom of speech is being trampled yet sometimes Ben's satire gets ahead of himself as he juxtaposes images and old film clips against statements and critiques from the other side that clearly show a point of view.

Beyond that, it's well done. It's also interesting to see hear the debates Ben gets in with the scientists from the evolution side...crystals and alien races? Really? And those that believe intelligent design are called whackos? Hmm.

..Ben is an affable fellow that you enjoy watching. The music is hauntingly beautiful.
