Review of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008) by David C — 18 Oct 2008
This is a challenging one to review. I am a Christian and a believer in intelligent design, and that does affect my view of how well the film accomplishes its goals. Overall, I think the movie did an okay job of at least bringing the intelligent design argument to the foreground; however, Stein fails to truly defend the theory itself, choosing instead to try to make science look bad.
I agree that people should not be censured because they believe differently from the scientific norm, but some of Stein's arguments, such as saying that Darwinists are more likely to be Nazis, are completely ludicrous (keep in mind that many Nazis were in fact "Christians").
I would recommend watching this in the hope that it causes the viewer to think about the issue, and suggest afterward doing research, on both sides of the argument, in order to truly decide where you stand.
