Had this documentary been done by anyone other than Ben Stein, I probably would not have enjoyed it quite as much. In his own quirky style, he points out (without ever directly stating it) the fact that when scientific inquiry into a field is completely suppressed, then "science" should be put in quotes.

For some historical reason, even though Darwin went against the conventions of his time when he proposed the origin of the species, going against the conventions he set in modern times is systematically squashed regardless of the reason as lunacy, stupidity or religious fervor or some combination thereof.
