Review of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008) by Peder S — 10 Jun 2009
Very interesting look into the concept of Intelligent Design and it's place, or lack there of, in the broader scientific community. Ben Stein, a very fun conservative, has some very interesting discussions with scientists on both sides of the argument (Intelligent Design vs. Evolution/Darwinianism).
The appeal to me for this documentary is the broader context in which our entire society and moral structure are undergoing the same battle. It's no longer appropriate to disagree with the mainstream and you face serious consequences if you do. If no serious consequences ensue, then you are delegated to face neverending insults on your character, but not on the substance of your argument.
Intelligent Design v. Darwinism is just a microcosm in the larger battle that consumers our society and will continue to do so for years to come.
Vive la freedom!
